Customer & Usage Data Integration

Data Integration is one of the most important phases during onboarding. GridX provides billing-grade rate and cost analytics and requires the corresponding data to support these services. The CIS and MDMS provide the most critical source data including customer information, characteristics, billing history and interval data. This data can also be retrieved from a data warehouse if the quality is sufficient.

Data Integration includes Data Acquisition to ensure we can acquire historical data and set up a daily incremental feed to keep our Rate Engine in sync with the CIS and MDMS. GridX supports standard approaches for data acquisition such as SFTP, APIs and cloud replication. Often clients have existing methods (e.g. Oracle GoldenGate) for extracting and sending data to vendors that GridX leverages to reduce the utility IT effort.

Data Mapping defines the ETL process from the client systems (Extract) into the GridX Platform (Transform/Load). GridX supports four data mapping specifications out-of-the box.

  1. GridX Data Integration Specification

  2. Oracle

  3. SAP

  4. Uplight Data Platform

During Onboarding, the data quality will be measured to identify missing data (i.e. interval usage gaps), inaccurate data and uncover tariff logic gaps and corner cases. The following pages provide more detail on these processes.

  1. Data Quality Monitoring

  2. Digital Rate Calibration
